The beginning:
In order to start with this project, we were required to select a theme beforehand. We were provided with several prompts and given the flexibility to combine three of them to form a subject. My chosen prompts were "long, long ago," "in the middle of the forest," and "in a fight." After choosing a subject, we had to create a specific number of rough sketches.
The research:
Once I had chosen a sketch, the research phase had started. My goal was to achieve a intruiging fighting scene, reflective of the ones found in video game cutscenes. So I began searching for references from games with a knightly theme, seeking inspiration not only for character design, but also for the appropriate color scheme and techniques to create a sinister, foreboding background.
